Can you share your background prior to coming to Hissho?
I was a farmer and caretaker for my family before moving to America.
Can you share any experiences where your cultural perspective positively impacted your interactions with customers or employees?
What motivated you to become a Hissho Sushi franchisee and a sushi chef?
In what ways has your heritage influenced your role as a business owner? Are there ways you celebrate your culture within your franchise location?
Before I moved to USA, I was a rice farmer and cooked rice by hand washing. I have brought these practices from home into my daily process of making rice at my franchise and I celebrate my culture every day with the sushi I make.
America just like Hissho has given me an opportunity to make a strong foundation in a new country.
How has being a business owner impacted your life?
It has helped me be independent and focus on being closer to my family in the states and support my family that is still in Burma. I can send medication for what my family needs.
What are some of your passions outside of your Hissho business? How has your role as a Hissho Sushi chef enabled you to pursue and advance your passions?
What is your favorite sushi roll?
